Einstein Telescope EMR Site & Technology (Research)
Abstract
Main project objectives: The first one is to provide an open model of the subsurface that will serve a wide range of stakeholders and will be dedicated to geophysical, hydrogeological and seismological investigations providing a detailed characterization of EMR and identifying the optimal location for ET as well as the environmental and socio-economic impact of hosting ET in EMR.
The second objective concerns the development of a new research facility devoted to the development of the enabling technologies for the ET that will bring together high-tech SMEs and research institutions to enable the ET technology. In particular the UHasselt task is to develop advanced photon sensors and apply the for laser light detection in GW models
