Abstract

The way in which temporary classes are currently provided is an expensive and not very sustainable solution, we want to work out an alternative for this. To do this, we focus on the 3 main areas where we currently identify barriers: 1) Didactic vision of the future: The vision of what the didactics should look like within a school has already been changed several times, each time driven by social changes. Today we see an increased interest in community schools where larger class sizes are the norm. Architecturally, these buildings cannot be compared with the rather classical school of a corridor with classrooms. 2) Techno-economic: By striving for the same quality as a new building, the investment value will by definition be higher than the known container classes. However, the solution lies in the higher residual value of the modules, whereby they can be used without modification in another temporary school or incorporated in a new school. 3) Legal: It is not easy to organize such innovative projects between a public and a private party in view of the current legislation on public procurement.
