Essays on public spending in health care (Research)
Abstract
The Flemish healthcare landscape has changed significantly in recent years due to, among other things, the aging of the population, innovation and increased patient involvement. These changes have put great pressure on healthcare budgets. Since hospitals have a pivotal role in health care costs, this PhD will examine the efficiency of (changes in) the Flemish hospital landscape and the impact of hospital financing reforms in Belgium on healthcare spending and quality of care.
