Title

Thermodynamic and mechanical properties of nucleic acids (Research)

Abstract

Nucleic acids such as DNA and RNA perform the role of carriers of the genetic code and are involved in molecular processes that underlie life on Earth. Theoretical understanding of the behaviour of these molecules in interaction with each other and in interaction with other molecules is of high importance in developing new technologies and understanding biological processes. In this project, we use techniques from statistical physics to gain insight into the mechanical and thermodynamic properties of nucleic acids at different spatial scales.
