Infectious disease modelling consortium for public health (Research)

The COVID-19 pandemic has clearly shown that collaboration between public health institutes and academia in terms of mathematical modelling infectious diseases is of utmost importance. While this pilot project focuses on a collaboration between Sciensano, Hasselt University and the University of Namur, future ambitions are aimed at setting up a platform for different public health actors and academia. During the project, different options will be explored to set up such a sustainable collaboration platform with the exchange of knowledge, competencies and data. Both an organizational framework (steering committee and members) along with a technical solution for data sharing need to be explored. International experiences of colleagues and personal experience with this pilot project will help form the infrastructure and organization of this Collaborative Platform.
