Blocking immune cell migration into the brain: a targeted therapy for autoimmune and neurodegenerative diseases (Research)

Autoimmune diseases are characterized by unleashed self-reactive immune cells which damage its own body. A very pathogenic, migratory subpopulation of immune cells are characterized by specific surface molecules. In this study, we aim to target this subpopulation and thereby blocking their immune cell migration to the brain and thus relieve the symptoms associated with autoimmunity
