Title

Long-term operational stability of diamond-based quantum sensors under space conditions (Research)

Abstract

Diamond-based quantum sensors recommended themselves for high-precision magnetometry but are also suitable for the detection of electric fields and temperatures. In comparison to other quantum sensing platforms, they can be miniaturized for space applications. Diamond-based systems are stable in the laboratory and Earth environments. However, the utilization in space requires their evaluation for such conditions as high radiational levels, temperature fluctuations in the high range, and external electromagnetic noise from the spacecraft or planetary surroundings. In this work, diamond-based quantum sensors will be tested under various space-like conditions and designed in a way to compensate for the potential negative effects.
