Title

Harnessing palmitoylation to attenuate neuroinflammation and boost remyelination in multiple sclerosis patients. (Research)

Abstract

Mounting evidence suggests that the fate of immune cells in multiple sclerosis (MS) is intricately linked to the quantity and metabolism of fatty acids. However, the specific fatty acids and the molecular mechanisms governing their impact on immune cell physiology and MS pathology continue to elude our understanding. In this project, we aim to harness innovative state-of-the-art techniques and leverage robust preliminary data to decode if S-palmitoylation, a recently unveiled posttranslational lipid modification, can be harnessed to reduce neuroinflammation and foster remyelination in MS patients.
