Churchsessions. Assignment by the municipality of Houthalen-Helchteren: Participatory work sessions for the Churches policy plan 2025 (Research)
Abstract
The future of the churches in Houthalen-Helchteren is currently unclear, and they are facing an important change. They have a rich history, but their role in the future has not yet been determined. It is important to investigate together what possibilities there are. Is there a need for new functions, preservation or something else? This Participatory Design research focuses on how we can think together about the possible roles that these buildings and their surroundings can fulfill in the future. Residents can participate in our church/work sessions and bring their ideas, concerns and dreams to the conversation. Everyone who is interested in the future of the churches in our municipality is invited to think along: resident, entrepreneur, or anyone who would like to think along.
