Lifting each other up: an interdisciplinary local networking initiative for academic women, by academic women (Research)

"Lifting each other up" is an interdisciplinary initiative that supports women academics to promote gender equality in academia. The project responds to structural challenges such as the glass ceiling, sticky floors and toxic leadership, which are often barriers for women in academia. By establishing a hybrid network with interactive workshops, mentoring and strategic meetings, the project provides practical tools, knowledge sharing and visibility for women academics at UHasselt. The goals are to strengthen careers of women academics, create a safe and supportive community and promote systemic change in universities. The target group consists of female academics at all levels, including junior researchers, experienced scholars and policy makers at UHasselt. The project focuses on inclusion, collaboration and empowerment as levers to address gender inequality and achieve sustainable impact within Flemish academia.
