Title
Fatigue in MS: from invisible to measurable (Research)
Abstract
Fatigue is an important yet invisible symptom of MS, significantly affecting the quality of life of persons with MS (pwMS). However, the underlying mechanisms of fatigue remain poorly understood. Disease progression in MS has been linked to atypical T cells, and we aim to investigate whether this specific T cell subset in the blood is also associated with fatigue and fatigability across different MS types. By correlating these outcomes, we might unravel a potential objective measure for fatigue that reflects the underlying immune response. The findings may offer insight into the immune mechanisms behind MS-related fatigue and could serve as the foundation for developing new, targeted treatments to more effectively manage fatigue in MS.
