Title

Advancing Physiotherapy Research and MS Rehabilitation: Insights from the World Physiotherapy Congress 2025 (Research)

Abstract

This application received funding for participation in the World Physiotherapy Congress 2025 in Tokyo, Japan. The applicant, Peter Feys, presents research findings from the International Multiple Sclerosis Survey (IMSS), which analyzes data from over 17,000 respondents across Europe on MS symptoms, their impact, and the role of physiotherapy in management. The presentation highlights the prevalence and severity of physical symptoms such as fatigue, mobility issues, and balance dysfunction, as well as the extent of physiotherapy utilization. Additionally, the applicant contributes to a global workgroup defining research priorities for physiotherapy, aligning with WHO's Rehabilitation 2030 initiative. Participation in this congress fosters international collaboration, promotes evidence-based rehabilitation strategies, and contributes to shaping current research directions in physiotherapy and neurorehabilitation.
