Title
Three pilot projects with SMEs in Genk for sustainable company gardens (Research)
Abstract
With this project, the city of Genk aims to promote more sustainable business parks through an integrated landscape management plan that aligns public green spaces, private company gardens, and buffer zones. Three pilot cases (Genk-Zuid and Zwartberg) are developed within a learning network involving UHasselt. Each case focuses on biodiversity, climate-resilient planting, and shared use of space, including collective rainwater buffers, green roofs, and shared infrastructure. A baseline measurement of ecological value enables impact assessment.
