A Future-Proof Energy Production Approach for the Einstein Telescope: From Construction to Decommissioning (Research)
Abstract
Within this project, we aim to develop sustainable, resilient, and socially supported energy production plans covering all phases of the Einstein Telescope; construction, operation, and decommissioning. The primary focus will be on integrating renewable energy sources, particularly wind and solar power. Multiple energy solutions will be assessed based on application-specific technological, ecological, and functional key performance indicators. The outcome will be a flexible and future-proof energy strategy that integrates energy storage, harnesses technological synergies, and is guided by a comprehensive benchmark analysis of available energy solutions.
