Title
16th Japan-Belgium Symposium on Polymer Science (Research)
Abstract
The 16th edition of the "Japan-Belgium Symposium on Polymer Science" will take place in Hasselt from 31 August to 3 September 2025. This symposium fits in with a long tradition of the most important researchers from the Belgian and Japanese polymer communities meeting and networking every two to three years. This year's edition follows previous symposia in Yokohama (2022), Mons (2018), Nara (2015), Brussels (2012), Tokyo (2009), Liège (2006), Osaka (2003), Ghent (2000), Hayama (1997), Namur (1994), Sendai (1991), Brussels (1989), Sapporo (1986), Brussels (1984), and Osaka (1982). The symposium covers all subdomains of polymer science, including novel synthetic methodologies, polymer physics, self-assembly, additive manufacturing, gels and networks, and organic electronics. 32 keynote lectures will be given in Hasselt. In addition to prominent Japanese and Belgian professors, local organizers (PhD students and postdocs) and several key industry representatives will be present. Furthermore, there will be a poster session where young researchers (PhD students and postdocs working in Belgian polymer groups) can share their results with the attendees.
