Project R-16351

Title

Get Rehdy - Getting Ready for the European Health Data Space (Research)

Abstract

The European Health Data Space (EHDS), in force since 26 March 2025, establishes a new European framework for the safe and responsible secondary use of health data for research, innovation and policy making. This creates clear opportunities for Flemish healthcare and research organisations to strengthen data driven innovation, while at the same time requiring targeted preparation at technical, legal and organisational level. GET REHDY supports Flemish health data holders and users in becoming EHDS ready for secondary use through a data as a product approach. The project translates EHDS requirements into concrete and actionable tools, guidelines and training. Technical building blocks, compliance by design and data literacy are integrated into one coherent and practical offering. The project delivers practical toolkits, demonstrators, self assessment instruments and co creative training formats for a broad range of actors, from healthcare organisations and researchers to legal experts and patient representatives. In doing so, GET REHDY lowers the barrier to EHDS compliance and helps Flemish organisations not only to be ready on time, but also to gain strategic value from the reuse of health data.
