Title

Know How 2 Transfer (Research)

Abstract

Know How 2 Transfer aims to provide logistics companies with insight into how they can use innovative tools and technologies to capture, organize, and make accessible the knowledge of experienced employees. Many logistics companies are facing an aging workforce, with a large number of employees due to retire soon. Over the course of their careers, these employees have built up a wealth of knowledge about specific topics, processes, or working with specific equipment. Much of this expertise is not documented; it is 'tacit knowledge', implicit knowledge and experience built up during the work itself, in short: the typical 'tricks of the trade'. But knowledge also becomes less accessible in the event of promotions and illness, and in the event of dismissal, there is a risk that it will disappear altogether. Today, there is a wide range of tools and technologies available that can ensure that this important knowledge is not lost. These are accessible, affordable tools and technologies that make it much easier to capture, organize, and make this valuable knowledge accessible. Think, for example, of making screen, voice, or video recordings of selected processes and converting these recordings into searchable 'user manuals'. AI can play an important role in these various steps.
