Title
INSPIRE 2026 – INclusive, Sustainable, Participatory, Innovative Research in Evaluation: Driving Innovation and Collaboration in Evaluation Research (Education)
Abstract
The International Group on Educational Evaluation Engineering (IGE³ – GIRIEF) is a global network of experts committed to advancing the design, implementation, and quality assurance of educational evaluation in higher education and training.
During seminars in Lausanne (2022–2024), GIRIEF created three strategic workgroups: (1) Charter - sharing values and principles for inclusive and participatory network evaluation; (2) Guide of Good Practices - a global reference of high-quality evaluation; (3) Eval-Hub - a multilingual open digital platform sharing reliable information, expert and AI-supported tools and guidance.
In 2026, GIRIEF want to host a five-day global seminar, INSPIRE – INclusive, Sustainable, Participatory, Innovative Research in Evaluation, at Hasselt University, supported by the UHasselt DIOS International Fund, gathering academics and practitioners to explore four interconnected themes.
● Sustainable and participatory evaluation methods – linked to the Charter Workgroup, exploring frameworks grounded in shared principles and long-term learning.
● Digital innovation in evaluation – connected to the Eval-Hub Workgroup, testing and disseminating innovative digital tools for international and blended learning contexts.
● Decolonial and inclusive evaluation methods – informed by the Guide of Good Practices Workgroup, promoting equity, inclusion, and mutual respect across diverse contexts.
● Evaluating for change and collaboration – integrating all three workgroups, reconceptualizing evaluation as a driver for transformative learning and equitable partnerships.
Participatory workshops, co-design sessions, and workgroup activities will deliver the Charter, Guide of Good Practices, and Eval-Hub, strengthening international collaboration and fostering sustainable impact in educational evaluation.
