SCOPE – Sustainable Computing Prototype for the Einstein Telescope. (Research)

SCOPE is a cross-border Interreg project that develops and validates a sustainable, scalable computing centre concept for the Einstein Telescope. The project addresses the major energy demand and environmental footprint of future high-performance computing by integrating renewable energy generation, battery and hydrogen storage, and adaptive computing workloads into one coordinated system. A container-sized prototype and a hardware-in-the-loop co-simulation framework will be used to test operating modes, control strategies and scaling scenarios. The project aims to deliver a validated blueprint for climate-conscious, energy-adaptive computing infrastructures for the Einstein Telescope and other future research and industrial data centres.
