Supramolecular Chemistry and Materials (Research)

Supramolecular chemistry is an important direction in chemical research. A large variety of new materialswith interesting and valorizable properties is accessible through supramolecular organization or assembly. Thisscientific community aims at coordinating the research in the domain of supramolecular chemistry and materials at allFlemish universities, and bringing them in touch with (inter)national expert groups. The scientific research lines of thecooperation are divided into the following work packages: WP1 - Porphyrins and porphyrin analogs as building blocksin supramolecular chemistry and materials (KU Leuven); WP2 - Photoactive materials for organic electronics &spintronics (UHasselt); WP3 - Sensors and molecular communication (UGent); WP4 - Peptide and polymer hydrogels(VUB); WP5 - Advanced characterization (UA); WP6 - Joint activities (UGent).
