Title

Blended Learning at the School of Social Sciences. (Education)

Abstract

The aim of this IOP is to strengthen the digital literacy and skills of students and lecturers by further embedding blended learning within the social sciences programme. Specifically, this IOP aims to translate the institution-wide vision on blended learning in a sustainable manner, in accordance with the substantive objectives of the social sciences programme and in line with the case-oriented, civic education concept. The IOP has three primary objectives: a) To collect and integrate academic literature and practical knowledge ('best practices') regarding blended learning initiatives in education (with a focus on social science disciplines); b) To critically evaluate existing, previously identified blended learning initiatives and practices within the School of Social Sciences; c) To facilitate the accelerated and coordinated implementation of blended learning initiatives within the existing curriculum, with a view to establishing a sustainable tradition of blended learning within the teaching team.
