Project R-16823

Title

Pointless 3.0 Market study (Research)

Abstract

The IOF CONCEPT project aims to validate the market need, define a clear positioning, and prepare industrial engagement for a novel data processing solution in MS. The project focuses on reducing key commercial uncertainties that determine the optimal path to market. Through a structured market analysis and stakeholder interviews, the project will establish a clear understanding of the competitive landscape, validate the problem–solution fit, and identify priority customer segments and requirements. In parallel, it will support the development of a targeted industrial engagement strategy and assess viable exploitation routes, with licensing to established industry players as the primary scenario. Depending on the outcome, this will provide us with a solid foundation for the next phase of valorisation, including further technical maturation, pilot collaborations with industrial partners, and preparation for commercial negotiations. A phased trajectory is envisaged, moving from prototype refinement and real-world validation towards integration into existing software ecosystems. Follow-up funding (e.g. IOF Proof-of-Concept) may support this transition by enabling additional development and validation activities, thereby bridging the gap between academic innovation and market adoption.
