Project R-16978

Title

Expanding OSN Predict to broader market applications (Research)

Abstract

OSN Predict has the ambition to become an AI-driven decision-support platform that accelerates the development of Organic Solvent Nanofiltration (OSN) processes for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. By combining physics-informed artificial intelligence with membrane transport models, the platform predicts membrane performance before laboratory experiments are performed, significantly reducing trial-and-error experimentation, development time and costs. The current technology has been successfully validated on highquality ceramic membrane datasets. This IOF CONCEPT project aims to broaden its applicability by improving the algorithm's robustness for incomplete real-world datasets, extending it to polymeric membranes, and validating the commercial potential through extensive market engagement with membrane manufacturers, engineering companies and industrial end users. The project will establish the technical and commercial foundation for the further development of a scalable software platform that supports sustainable process design and accelerates the industrial adoption of energy-efficient membrane separations
