Lang term monitoring of the remeandering of the moved Witte Nete in Dessel (Research)

By creating a sandpit in Dessel by Donk, the 'Witte Nete' is being redirected over the length of about 2 km. The agreement aims to measure the effectiveness of this long-term monitoring. In addition to the landscape assessment, the monitoring of macro-invertebrates, the vegetation and the fish fauna comes first. This is an evaluation that will run over 5 years. The objective of this long-term monitoring is to demonstrate the sustainability of the effectiveness of remeandering. This monitoring should make clear whether the observed recovery of macro-invertebrates and fishcommunity is not a temporary but a permanent phenomenon in the (semi) natural function in the watercourse.
