Title
ACCESS: Assistance in Clean Coal and Environmentally sound Storage Solutions (Research)
Abstract
The overall objective of the action is to build capacity for the development of Clean Coal Technologies (CCT) and the identification of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) potential in Kazakhstan. These new technologies can improve the efficiency of coal combustion and can reduce environmental impact of the coal industry. In addition, focus will lie on capacity building on economical, social and environmental aspects of CCT and CCS. Since Kazakhstans dominant fuel for energy production is its own coal, the coal combustion industries are negatively impacting the environment and health of the local population.
