Study of the activation of endogenous repair mechanisms of the heart and the suppression of fibrosis for myocardial recovery after an infarction. (Research)

After myocardial infarction, the damaged heart muscle is replaced by non-contractile scar tissue leading to a decreased cardiac function. In this study, the molecular mechanisms of cardiac regeneration and fibrosis are investigated in order to stimulate the endogenous myocardial regeneration.
