At the start of each semester, orientation days are organised for international students to show them around Hasselt University and give them information about administrative procedures, the electronic learning environment, insurance, Belgian culture, student societies, bicycle renting, etc. Furthermore, these days are an ideal opportunity to get to know other (international) students at Hasselt University.
- Each year, the orientation days of the first semester take place on Tuesday, Wednesday - Thursday - Friday of the second week of September.
- The orientation day of the second semester each year takes place on the second Monday of February.
Your presence at these orientation days is mandatory !
For students who come to Hasselt University during the 2019-2020 academic year, the orientation programme of the first semester is organised on 10, 11, 12, 13 September 2019, on Campus Diepenbeek. Intensive Dutch Course
If you are coming to Hasselt University and you are interested in learning a bit of Dutch before the start of the academic year, you are welcome to take part in the Intensive Dutch Course. This is a 2-week intensive course, prior to the orientation programme, during the last week of August and the first week of September at Campus Hasselt. This intensive course allows up to 30 students and is available for both exchange as well as international master students.
For the academic year 2019-2020, the intensive Dutch course will take place from August 26th, until September 6th, 2019. Each Monday to Friday, from 9 AM until 4 PM (good for 30 hours of Dutch per week).
