Practicalities

Who can apply?

  • PhD students and postdocs

How to register?

Registration for SciMingo activities is managed directly by SciMingo. Interested researchers can register through the registration link provided on the webpage of the respective course or workshop.

Please note that participation in SciMingo activities is generally subject to a registration fee. Researchers who register directly through SciMingo are responsible for covering these costs themselves. The Doctoral Schools occasionally collaborate with SciMingo to organise specific science communication training activities for UHasselt researchers. When such activities are organised and funded by the Doctoral Schools, participation is free of charge for eligible researchers. This does not apply to activities for which researchers  register directly through SciMingo.

For the most up-to-date information on the programme, registration procedures, and fees, please consult the SciComm Academy webpage.

Acknowledgments?

Participation in SciMingo activities can be acknowledged within your portfolio as follows:

  • DS BSH: category 'research management & communication skills' - workshop on communication skills
  • DS HLS: category 'transferable skills' - compulsory elective course
  • DS ST: category 'scientific & generic communication' - course about generic communication

As the Doctoral Schools do not automatically receive attendance records from SciMingo, participation is not added automatically to your portfolio. PhD students who which to obtain acknowledgement must submit an individual request to DSRequirements@uhasselt.be, following the procedure described here (section 'doctoral school portfolio').
