This event "Glocalising universities: a shifting horizon" will take place at Hasselt University, campus Hasselt, which used to be the Old Prison in the center of the city. The prison has a fascinating history. Despite the changes over the years, you’ll still see many symbols that refer to the old function of the building. Hasselt University has filled it with a new purpose, where nowadays hundreds of students study the application of law in complete freedom.

The address where the teaching forum will take place is Martelarenlaan 42 (Hasselt). You can use this address in default navigation apps.
If you are coming straight from an international airport, the easiest way is Brussels International Airport (Zaventem, Belgium, airline code BRU).
On arrival in the arrival’s hall of Brussels National Airport, take the elevator to the -1 level where you will find the train station. There, you can ask for information on trains to Hasselt (timetable can also be found online, from Brussels Airport; to Hasselt). You can buy your ticket in the station or online. For more information on train timetables, see “by train”.
If you prefer traveling by car, you can rent a car, share a car or use a taxi.

From Hasselt railway station you can bike or walk to campus Hasselt, or take a bus or taxi from the front of the railway station to Kolonel Dusartplein. From K. Dusartplein you can walk to Campus Hasselt by following the signs to ‘faculteit Rechten – Universiteit Hasselt’ (Faculty of Law – Hasselt University).
The ‘Boulevardpendel’ is a shuttle service that departs every 5 minutes from Hasselt station and takes you to the ‘Kolonel Dusartplein’ stop in about 8 minutes.
From Diepenbeek campus, Lines 44, 45, 20a, 20ab and 36a depart to Kolonel Dusartplein.
Lines 12, 44 and 45 depart from Genk railway station to Kolonel Dusartplein.

Real-time info bus stop Dusartplein HasseltHasselt University has resolutely opted for a sustainable mobility policy. Therefore, we recommended that you travel by bike or public transport as much as possible. If you have no other option, Hasselt is easily accessible via the E313 (exits 27-28-29) and E314 (exit 29) motorways. There are plenty of car parks in and around the city centre.
You can leave your car for free at one of the Park & Rides on the outskirts of the city and continue your journey by bus (from Carpoolparking Zuid and Parking H you can get to the city centre for 1 euro). Near Campus Hasselt, there are underground paying car parks at Dusartplein (Parking Dusart) or Quartier Bleu (Parking Blauwe Boulevard). From the outer ring road, follow the LED signs to these car parks.

Campus Hasselt has a covered bicycle parking on the Koekerellenpad (path between the Old Prison and the green Administration Building) and a bicycle shed in the courtyard of the Old Prison (on the inner ringroad side).
