International Kitchen @ Umami

Are you a student with a passion for cooking? Would you love to share your cuisine and culture with fellow students? Then International Kitchen @ Umami is just for you!

What’s the idea?
Every month, one student gets the opportunity to prepare and serve two traditional dishes from their home country in the Umami student restaurant. One dish includes meat, fish, or another protein source, and the other is vegetarian. You’ll prepare around 75 portions of each dish, with the support of our chef.

First edition: May 27 with a student from India – maybe you’re next?

What do we expect from you?

  • You choose two authentic dishes from your culture
  • You provide a list of ingredients, including the original names of the dishes in your native language
  • You have some cooking experience and are eager to work as part of a team
  • You’re available on the agreed date (max. 8 hours of work)
  • You’re open to decorating your serving corner with music, decor, or traditional clothing (optional, but fun!)

What do we take care of?

  • Umami will purchase all ingredients (except for spices, which you bring yourself)
  • You’ll cook in our kitchen with professional guidance from our chef
  • You’ll be paid via a temp agency
  • Everything will be done in line with food safety regulations
  • We’ll support you with planning and promotion

This is more than just cooking – it’s a full experience! Share the flavors, smells, and stories of your culture and let others discover your world through food.

Interested?
Send us an e-mail with a short description of the dishes you’d like to prepare and why you’d love to be part of International Kitchen. We’re excited to discover your cuisine!
