Group assignments in distance learning can be challenging. You cannot meet physically, and students of diverse backgrounds, with different communication and work or lifestyles, might be involved.
Some tips:
- Agree on online meetings via video chat.
Consider different time zones when scheduling meetings. Try to find a time that works for everyone.
- Divide the different tasks among the group members
- Agree on clear deadlines by which (sub)tasks must be completed.
- Share documents via, e.g. Google Drive so that you can work on them at the same time
- Acknowledge and appreciate the diverse backgrounds of group members. This can lead to different perspectives and innovative ideas in your collaboration
