Every non-EEA student must have a student residence permit. Your right of residence as a non-EEA student is always limited to the duration of your studies.
To renew your student residence permit, you will need two mandatory documents from Hasselt University:
Request these documents via the Google Form. After student administration has processed your request, you can find these documents in your student portal. So please be patient and start your request on time.

You must apply for the renewal of your residence permit at least 15 days before your current residence card expires.
However, we strongly recommend applying as soon as:
If required documents are missing and not submitted in time, the municipality may declare your application inadmissible (Annex 29).
When applying for the renewal of your residence permit, take the following documents with you to the Town Hall:
If your official residence is in Hasselt, you may send your documents before your appointment to: vreemdelingendienst@hasselt.be. Please mention your National Register Number in the email.
The Immigration Office may terminate a student's residence right if study progress is considered insufficient.
