PhD Student
Ferdinando Muraca obtained his Bachelor’s degree in physics at Hasselt University. He then pursued a master’s degree in physics at KU Leuven, where he conducted research on a high-precision lifetime determination technique to measure the lifetimes of two excited states of cesium-133. After his master’s degree, Ferdinando started his PhD in physics as part of the OOE group at IMO under prof. dr. ir. Vandewal. His research primarily focuses on optical characterization and the analysis of charge carrier recombination processes in organic photovoltaics and nanoparticles for renewable energy and biomedical applications.
