Giel Swennen obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Physics and his Master’s degree in Materiomics from Hasselt University. He is currently pursuing a PhD in the OOE research group under the supervision of Prof. Koen Vandewal, focusing on photon upconverters. His research combines theoretical modeling, computational simulations, and experimental work. Previously, he contributed to the development of the circularly polarized light characterization setup within the OOE group.
