Project R-9967

Title

IOF mandate Faculty of Architecture and Arts (ARK) 2019-2023 (Research)

Abstract

The Faculty of Architecture and Arts (ARK) conducts multidisciplinary research on societal relevant themes. Valorisation is therefore largely a societal (rather than purely economic) concept for ARK. ARK covers a wide range of types of collaborations with external actors, ranging from student assignments, policy-supporting design research, consultancy services, artistic research, sponsorship agreements to (large-scale) research projects with valorisation potential. Within a great diversity of projects, a wide range of partners is addressed (profit, non-profit and public sector). Other forms of technology transfer are also addressed (I-deposits, licences, patent application, etc.). The IOF mandatary thereby fulfils an important interface function both internally and externally to the outside world. Thereby, the mandatary plays an important role in facilitating valorisation-oriented research projects, in projects with strong input from external partners, in IOF projects and in public procurement and consultancy services. After all, the valorisation potential here is quite high given that ARK's research fits well with existing societal questions and the field of work. In addition, the IOF mandatary also supervises other (IP) files, such as licence agreements, NDAs, trademark registrations, etc. The mandatary supports in working out offers, contracts, involving partners, etc.
