COCK-pit: Competency development through Competency Map (Education)

UHasselt is committed to competency-based education whereby training programs are grafted on competency profiles with specific final competencies. During the learning process students need to acquire these final competencies (both profession-specific and generic). We wish to guide this growth process better, which requires continuous monitoring of the competence development. Within the COCKpit project, a digital tool will be developed to map this competency development, across course units and years. In order to guide the learning process more efficiently, the developed software must allow for evaluation, consultation and archiving of evaluation results and extensive feedback, as well as monitoring and visualizing the growth process. Both students, peers, internal and external evaluators should be able to use this tool. Afterwards software could be used, both in pre- and post-academic education and in the work context, in function of the follow-up of competence development.
