Chris Burtin investigates the impact of severe pulmonary diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer, on daily life functioning and quality of life. More recently he also worked on the long-term impact of COVID-19. His research zooms in on the importance of physical fitness and physical activity behaviour and aims to identify rehabilitation interventions tailored to the individual patient.
