Project R-14969

Title

Enhanced EEG-Based Data Processing Pipeline for Realtime Driver Drowsiness Detection (Research)

Abstract

Sleep is essential for humans, yet its deprivation can impair cognitive abilities, posing risks, particularly in activities like driving. Drowsy driving significantly endangers road safety. This research addresses road safety concerns by developing a novel EEG-based driver drowsiness detection technique. This study aims to mitigate drowsy driving risks, contributing significantly to overall road safety standards. The research focuses on enhancing accuracy and responsiveness in real-world driving conditions, including offline and online testing and continuous model refinement. Successful completion of this research will lay the foundation for an EEGbased Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) module designed for drowsiness detection which can be used to mitigate risks and enhance road safety.
