Title

Inclusion within the labour market (Research)

Abstract

I study the topic of disability as a social construction and organizationally created or aggravated problem rather than a medical tragedy that resides inside the individual body. During my PhD studies the focus lay on ableism in waged employment and what organizations could do to foster inclusion. I analyzed three organizations in-depth and qualitatively, to see how they approach disability inclusion differently. After the PhD, I carried on researching how disabled people were being excluded in originations, this time focusing on how this had occurred through space, differed for men and women, was experienced by people with a very stigmatized identity, or could occur 'by proxy' through service animals. It was during my post-doc that I in addition became interested in the experiences of disabled and neurodivergent entrepreneurs. Today my research looks at how new workplace practices such as hotdesking and hybrid work, can be rendered more inclusive for a wide range of users.
