Image processing for integrated and immersive visualisation.

Together with KULeuven, VUB, UA, RUG and IMEC this project was proposed in the ITA-II-research programme of the IWT. The research activities of LUC-EDM will situate mainly in the area of simulations, where the research will focus on the possible use of a force-feedback in the interaction with virtual environments. Attention will also be given to the interconnection of force-feedback equipment to existing equipment for virtual environments. In order to realise and demonstrate 'elastic surface deformation' in a force-feedback environment, several basic algorithms (like f.e. collision detection) will be also implemented.
