Prof. Dr. Engr. Ali Pirdavani is currently a professor at the Faculty of Engineering Technology and the School for Transportation Sciences at Hasselt University and is affiliated with the Transportation Research Institute (IMOB). He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and an M.Sc. in Transportation Engineering. In 2012, he received his Ph.D. in Transportation Sciences from Hasselt University. Prior to his current appointment, he was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship from the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) and worked as a researcher at the IMOB research institute of Hasselt University.
His research interests include road construction, road safety, autonomous vehicles, and statistical modeling. Prof. Pirdavani is the author of more than 100 scientific publications and serves as an editor for several renowned journals in his field, including Sustainability and the KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering. He is also a member of the editorial boards of Advances in Transportation Studies and Promet – Traffic & Transportation.
