STREAMCOAT: Spray-on-Screen voor ultra dunne coatings (Onderzoek)

STREAMCOAT aims to develop an automated Spray-on-Screen (SoS) system for depositing ultrathin coatings (5–15 nm) over large areas. Conventional vacuum-based methods such as sputtering or ALD are costly and slow, while spin coating lacks scalability. SoS offers a unique combination of low cost (< €0.02/cm²), low processing temperature (< 120 °C), and nanometer precision, compatible with roll-to-roll production. This IOF-CONCEPT project will build a fully automated demonstrator to showcase the technology to academic and industrial partners. The goal is to assess both the technical potential and market interest as a step toward spin-off valorisation. Applications include photovoltaics, OLEDs, sensors, and biomedical coatings, where uniform nanolayers are key to performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
