The Research group Logistics (in Dutch: onderzoeksgroep Logistiek) is a research group of Hasselt University (UHasselt), part of the faculty of Business Economics and the department Quantitative Methods. The research group Logistics aims to achieve theoretical advances in modelling and solving real-life decision making problems in the field of logistics and to valorise results in cooperation with the industry.

The research group Logistics (LOG) aims to achieve theoretical advances in modelling and solving real-life decision making problems in the field of logistics and to valorise results in cooperation with the industry. Planning problems are studied using techniques from operations research to increase the efficiency of transportation and logistics companies. Currently, four research streams exist within the group: vehicle routingwarehouse managementintermodal transportation and healthcare logistics.

Education

All members of the research group Logistics are, next to their research activities, intensively involved in the bachelor and master educational programs of the Faculty of Business Economics at Hasselt University. Four different educational programs at high academic level are offered: Business AdministrationApplied Economic SciencesBusiness Engineering, and Business and Information Systems Engineering. Several of the courses in the four programs are coordinated by our research group's faculty members, with the assistance of PhD students and post-doc researchers.

In two educational programs, the research group is responsible for a specialisation in the master program: Operations Management and Logistics in the master Business Engineering and Supply Chain Management in the master Business Administration.
