About Us

History

Since 2012, the Mobile Health Unit has been a pioneer in digital health and hybrid care. Building on a strong foundation in cardiology, our expertise has grown year by year. It has expanded across multiple medical disciplines and now spans the full trajectory of healthcare innovation.

What began as research into technological possibilities has evolved into an integrated approach in which science, clinical practice and implementation are closely interconnected. Our network has grown alongside this development.

Today, the Mobile Health Unit plays a central role within the Limburg healthcare region, working together with partners to advance sustainable hybrid care that is equipped to meet the challenges of the future.

People who transform care

At the Mobile Health Unit, everything begins with people. Our team brings together deep clinical expertise and academic leadership: each physician is also a professor, enriching our approach from lab to bedside. Internationally recognised pioneers and dedicated doctoral researchers join forces to make hybrid care a reality.

Our people are more than experts. They are driven to transform healthcare from within.

Remote Monitoring 2

From research to care delivery

The Mobile Health Unit (MHU) has been pioneering mobile health and hybrid care since 2012. However, meaningful transformation goes beyond research and innovation. With the Remote Clinical Monitoring Centre (RCMC), we are taking a crucial next step: translating innovation from research and hospital settings into coordinated, patient-centred care across all levels of the system.

While the MHU focuses on scientific validation, the RCMC is designed to ensure that every patient in Limburg has access to safe, high-quality hybrid care. Not fragmented initiatives, but one coordinated effort that supports and relieves healthcare organisations. By bringing together expertise in data, devices and implementation, we ensure that innovation is effectively translated into practice.

Through a broader network of healthcare partners — from primary care to industry — we are building a strong regional care hub in which healthcare is truly transformed by embedding successful innovations sustainably into routine care.

Our strength lies in this unique combination: academic expertise, clinical experience and regional collaboration. It enables us not only to design and develop hybrid care, but to deliver it in practice.
