Content

Are you struggling to juggle demanding research, strict deadlines, and the pressure to excel? Take part in this two-day workshop by Dr Karolien Notebaert (The Science and Leadership Academy) and gain insights in how to increase the potential of your brain. You will learn powerful strategies that can lead to a significant increase of cognitive performance, mental strength and general life quality. All strategies can easily be implemented in your work as researchers, and in your life in general.

Learning outcomes

Attending this workshop will lead to:

  • improved self-knowledge and communication through new insights into how the brain processes information,
  • insight into the personal basic needs of the brain and how they can be fulfilled for a better performance,
  • understanding the neuroscience of decision making as the foundation for improved personal and professional decisions,
  • insight into the neurological foundations of personality and how to increase performance through the selection of tasks that fit personality best,
  • understanding and knowing how to practice self-regulation as a key to a higher (cognitive) performance.

Competences

An important part of preparing for any further professional step is becoming (more) aware of the competences you have developed and/or want to develop. In the current workshop, the following competences from the UHasselt competency overview are actively dealt with:

    • self-development
    • responsiveness to change

What others say

Simply said: one of the best doctoral schools I followed so far. Very interesting, interactive and educational training that is very well given by an expert in the field of neuroscience. You learn about how different parts of the brain work and how the interaction between them can make you reach your true potential.
(participant in 2023)
The training is really valuable for more than your professional life alone. It teaches you how to excel in life in general! The training can also be seen as the first stepping stones to expand your knowledge on how to become the best version of yourself.
