About Me

Banner

Charlotte has been working since 2016 within the research group Designing for More at the Faculty of Architecture & Arts as a researcher (master researcher). Through various research projects (including TETRA and POC trajectories), she has developed extensive expertise in the field of (in-store) experience and influencing consumer behavior.

In 2017, Charlotte co-founded the Retail Design Lab, a unique knowledge centre in retail design where academic insights are converted into practical tools and advice. Through the Retail Design Lab, many retailers, designers and consultants have already been trained, coached and advised in more experiential design solutions for several stores.

Together with Prof. Dr. Katelijn Quartier, Charlotte is the face of the knowledge centre and supports many renowned companies in Belgium as a consultant.

From September 2024, Charlotte also teaches retail design to students of the 3rd Bachelor of Interior Architecture (Design Studio Retail Design) (2024-2025) and Master students of Retail Design (Research Seminar Lovemarks) (2024-2026).

On top of that, since May 2025, Charlotte proudly holds the title of project coordinator of the research and networking initiative Lifting Each Other Up. Together with professors Elke Emmers, Anouk Agten, Eline Jammaers and Ruth Stevens, she forms the team behind this innovative project, created by and for female academics at UHasselt. This project (2025–2028) is made possible with the support of the Sakura Fund for Future Generations.
