Pejman Salimi obtained his PhD in Sciences and Technologies of Chemical and Materials in 2023 from the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) - Università degli Studi di Genova, Italy. In his doctoral thesis, he focused on engineering waste biomass materials for application as anodes in both conventional and next-generation lithium-ion batteries. following his Ph.D. graduation, he secured a position as a researcher in the Sustainable Energy Group at Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK). In this role, his main focus was on the development and validation of solid-state battery materials and technologies. The project he was involved in was a European-based initiative known as IPCEI.
In November 2023, he joined imo-imomec as an expert researcher under the supervision of Prof. D. Vandamme. His research aims to enhance the understanding of the relationship between the properties of biochar-based materials and their performance in future battery design.
