Prof. dr. Charlotte JANSSENS

I am an Assistant Professor of Environmental Economics at Hasselt University. As a researcher, I focus on understanding the impact of climate change on global food systems. To do this, I specialize in the use of quantitative simulation models that link economic frameworks with biophysical models to provide a comprehensive, interdisciplinary perspective. I am also interested in the theoretical and empirical research necessary to continually refine and improve these modeling tools. My current research projects focus on investigating the role of agri-food trade in climate change adaptation and the environmental accounting of the GHG emission footprint of food consumption.
