What does it involve?

The UHasselt Science Slam is an accessible competition in which scientists must present their research in a creative and accessible way to a wide audience. Instead of a formal lecture, scientists are expected to present their story in a clear, engaging and often humorous manner, using vivid examples, in a maximum of five to ten minutes. The audience and/or a designated jury then decides who gives the best presentation. In many science slams, it is important to explain the research in a way that is accessible to children.

Who can participate?

Dutch- or English-speaking researchers affiliated with a Hasselt University research group who are working on a PhD or project, or who have defended a PhD in the past five years and do not have ZAP status. If you speak both languages, you can choose which language you want to participate in.
