Daan Coenen obtained his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Hasselt University in 2021, after completing his Bachelor’s thesis on indoor organic photovoltaics within the DSOS group. Continuing his academic journey at KU Leuven, he completed an external internship at Galapagos in 2022, contributing to the synthesis of novel kinase inhibitor scaffolds. Daan conducted his Master's thesis under the guidance of Prof. Wim Dehaen, focusing on the synthesis and post-functionalization of the novel boron-containing fluorophore BOPAM, and graduated ‘magna cum laude’ in 2023. Currently pursuing his Ph.D. within the DSOS group, Daan's research is centered around optimizing conjugated block copolymers to enhance the stability and performance of single-component organic solar cells.
